After Patreon changed and then un-changed their fee model change the other month, I was reminded of my ideal Patreon model: everybody gives a dollar a month to everything they like. No reward tiers, no fancy nonsense. A little bit from a lot of people seems more stable, more sustainable and healthier long-term. It means that people can give more to different creators. It disjoins the patreonage from the rewards—in the same way that Kickstarter went from "support this one-time project!"-style things to "pre-order this scam product!"-style things, Patreon has gone from "Support creators you like!" to "Subscribe to premium podcast episodes!"

NB: This is clearly the exact opposite of what Patreon wants, and Kickstarter have named their alternative "Drip", so,
