1632: put a ring on it

1632: put a ring on it

I was off work last week, so I took a break from blogging too. I'm also taking a break from the usual format because (inspired by Jay's post on the topic of weeknotes) I'm thinking about rejigging it a little, but I don't have the juice to do so right now, but there are some bits I wanted to mention before I got too far away from it in time.

Most important: proposed to CM (on the Volk's, of course) on our anniversary, she said yes, very exciting, lots of our pals were at Halfway Station to celebrate with us. The ring is a family heirloom, apparently: it was originally my great-grandmother's. I was very glad my mum doesn't still wear it and gave it to me, becuase that's a sweet story and I have also now seen the price of new rings (frankly, resizing this one cost enough!). In fact, any good or service prepended with the word "wedding" appears to have a 0 appended to its price. The next year or so of planning will be fun.

Other things that happened: I was off work for a week and actually let myself relax for once, which was smashing. The Brewers had a great final home game of the season against the Kent Bucs, coming from 7 runs down and then scoring 8 runs in the final inning to win. Summerslam (or what I saw of it, at least) was pretty good. Had lots of nice time with friends. I had Lay Minister Of Communion training (licence coming soon). I went sea swimming (which was amazing). Watched the Pride parade for a bit but it was mad busy and we went to a friend's house to make zines instead. It was, in general, way too hot.

Keep it real! Over and out.
