1630: euphoria

Throughput

  • I've realised, not for the first time, that unless there is something actively affecting my emotions, their half-life is fairly short and they don't linger. Which is to say: I was going to say "I've had a good week" because I'm feeling good right now, even if my diary paints a more varied picture. Rollercoasters are fun, but you don't want to be stuck on them for too long.
  • Work was tough but mostly because of how hard I find it when I can't understand why something's not working: my cofounder being on hols has been incredibly useful to me for learning reasons because it forces me to solve for myself problems I'd usually ask her to solve, but also frustrating because one particular problem I thought I solved and was very happy and then I realised it caused another problem somehow, which blocked another piece of work, and and and. Everything else was good, though—some people I reached out to for help gave me some really splendid advice, which I appreciated.
  • Started jogging again because I want to improve my cardio because I want to get back to BJJ. I also bought myself a slightly more generous gi as I have put on a bit of weight this year 😅 hoping I will be able to get back to my old one soon, as this one was the only cheap thing they had in my size in the Tatami sale.
  • Trans Pride yesterday, and I was just trying to work out when the first one I went to was—2017 or 18 I think, back when the march started outside the Marly, back when it was the Marly, and ended in Brunswick Gardens. There would've been maybe two or three thousand people tops; my mates were headlining the concert. This time there were apparently 40,000 people there. The main thing I think most of us talked about on the march was "boy, there's a lot of people here". Lovely to see everyone even if I did get extremely tired and crash out fairly soon after the march.

Input

  • I completed a Balatro run which I think has burned me out on it for now. Steam says I spent 2oish hours playing it but I think at least some of that was me falling asleep with it on. Still: a game that I have been playing a lot!
  • We've hit Gilmore Girls S4 and I feel like things have immediately started getting worse. Characters are behaving very differently to usual for no good reason, problems are being caused by people not saying things they have no good reason not to say—I feel like we've hit the turn here. That said, I'm surprised how little the Yale stuff seems to affect things—the amount Rory's in Stars Hollow at the moment it's not being treated that differently from Chilton.
  • I have sadly not been reading very much though I am hoping to backfill a bunch of Notes, so watch this space.

Keep it real! Over and out.
