Local Election News

We didn't have a full slate of council elections in Brighton–just the Sussex PCC elections (the results of which won't be announced until Monday) and a few by-elections for councillors who have stood down. One of those was for Hollingdean and Stanmer ward, which I have a particular connection to as I was a member there for five years and ward secretary for three of those. I'm very sad to note that Leila Erin-Jenkins, the excellent Labour candidate, lost to the Greens. Pavilion Labour constituency chair Jon has more analysis here.
