Get A Website
I promise, I'm not just going to complain about Twitter again, however: I implore you, if you're starting a public-facing initiative of some kind, some sort of meetup or event or organisation, once you get going a bit, create an actual website; don't be based entirely on social media. Leaving aside any beardo complaints about who really owns your stuff, social media can be extremely hostile to people who refuse to use it on its own terms, and it's also frustratingly ephemeral and often difficult to find. Domains and simple hosting are cheap, but if that feels too intimidating you can just start a Wix site or a Wordpress blog if you want. Anything that means I don't have to try and work out what's going on via e.g. Instagram, a service which will not allow you to expand pictures and view the text descriptions of posts without logging in.
