A few things today. Firstly, I’m looking into buying a new mobile phone. My problem with my old one… well, I’ve run out of credit and don’t know where I’ve left the top-up card. I also want a phone on contract – part of my problem with the old one was that I used it next to never, for the simple reason that I didn’t want to waste my credit, or pay for more. I’m considering getting an HTC Wildfire, which my dad has. If anyone has any other suggestions, I’d be happy to hear them.
I’d like you to take a moment to remind you all how great OK Go are:
(I do apologise, WordPress is usually ok with Youtube embeds. Not today, apparently. It’s here)
Right now my house seems to be suffering an invasion of moths. An unusually large number have been fluttering about the house, and I wouldn’t mind so much were they normal-sized, but these ones are huge. Enormous, I would go so far as saying. I have a peculiar fear of things like this. For the most part, insects don’t bother me a great deal – I don’t exactly love the gribbly little things, but I once ate a cricket (I was in primary school. There’s a little more backstory than that, but it’s more amusing to me to leave it at that. I estimate that three of my readers (and you know who you are) will know what I’m talking about) and I’m ok with ants (so long as they’re not wood ants. I had an amusing run-in with them when I was much younger. Brought a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘ants in your pants’, let me tell you) and… well, I mostly have a problem with the sort of bugs which fly at me. Whether they sting or not, I don’t like it. Bees, wasps, moths, bats – I’m not entirely sure what it is, but they always induce a temporary panic. So, when I’m being assaulted by moths which look like their wings are having difficulty supporting their gargantuan bodies on a semi-regular basis in my own home I get a little jumpy. I’ve got up twice now to swat away a marauder with a copy of Private Eye.
Where was I going with all this? Moths are rather annoying. That’s about the size of it. These moths, where are they flocking from? There was another thing I was going to mention. Podcasts. I’m a big fan, personally. I tried to do a podcast for this blog last year. It had its moments. I’m going to try and do it again this year. If all goes to plan, it should be myself and my friend Scott talking about nothing in particular. Maybe we’ll try to get some guests on. Last time we had a guest episode, I never bothered editing it, and it became the fabled ‘lost’ sixth episode. Anyway, if I can bully Scott into it, the NRBcast will return, hopefully less dreadful, and with lots of good stuff and ideas and sections and things. And food, perhaps.
That’s all for today. See you tomorrow.
